Sensaphone Offers NIST Traceable Temperature Sensors for Food Industry Refrigerators and Freezers

ASTON, Pa., June 10, 2020 – To help food industry professionals maintain operational effectiveness, uphold quality assurance and meet regulatory compliance, Sensaphone offers NIST traceable calibration temperature sensors. These certified sensors are necessary for facilities that need to have an audit trail proving their products and inventory are continually stored at specific temperatures. They are used by operators of food manufacturing, processing and storage facilities; research and testing laboratories; and food service and retail businesses.

These certificates indicate that the sensors are traceable to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, a U.S. Commerce Department agency. The NIST traceable calibration certificates include the necessary information to meet stringent accreditation demands, including serial number, test points and individual unit's specific test date. Traceable calibration certificates ensure that a food industry facility is fully equipped to calibrate equipment to NIST standards and that products offered by that manufacturer match the NIST-maintained measurement criteria.

Sensaphone Temperature Sensors with NIST Traceable Calibration Certificates:

  • 2.8K Weatherproof Temperature Sensor measures temperature from -20 °F to 176 °F | -28 °C to 80 °C.
  • 2.8K Temperature Sensor in Glycol-Filled Bottle measures the temperature of items inside a refrigerator or freezer. Placing the sensor in a glycol-filled bottle provides a reading that represents the temperature of the inventory rather than the ambient air temperature. Measures temperature from -20 °F to 176 °F | -28 °C to 80 °C.
  • 2.8K Ultra-Low Temperature Sensor in a Glass Bead-Filled Bottle for storage temperatures consistently under -20 °C. The glass bead-filled bottle buffers momentary fluctuations that may trigger an alert, such as defrost cycles, doors opening and fans circulating air.Capable of measuring temperatures from -58 °F to 176 °F | -50 °C to 80 °C.
  • WSG Wireless Temperature Sensor with External Probe works exclusively with the Sensaphone WSG30 wireless monitoring device, and the sensor circuitry includes a built-in radio transmitter. Available in two temperature ranges: -20 °F to 115 °F or -121 °C to 115 °C.
  • WSG Wireless Temperature Sensor in Buffered Bottle works exclusively with the Sensaphone WSG30 wireless monitoring system. Placing the sensor in a bottle filled with glass beads or glycol provides a reading that represents the temperature of the inventory rather than the ambient air temperature. Measures temperatures from -20 °F to 115 °F | -28 °C to 46 °C.
